Gordon Wood Optical was founded in 1964 by Gordon Sydney Wood. The original store was located
in Toronto. In 1968 the business was moved to Richmond Hill. In 1975 it moved again to the current location at 10350 Yonge Street. Mr. Wood retired in 1989 and the store was purchased by long time employees Rob Dickinson and Evelyn Kopton-Fearnley, the current owners.
Things have changed a great deal in the optical business since 1964. The selection of frames and the types of lenses available now, is ten times what is was then. One thing that hasn't changed is our commitment to our most important asset, our valued customers. We still provide the quality workmanship and experienced, friendly service that has made us famous in Richmond Hill for over three decades. We employ only
opticians licensed to practice by the College of Opticians of Ontario, so anyone who handles your glasses at Gordon Wood Optical is fully qualified to do so.
